Who else takes the whole family on backcountry hikes and camping?

I took the family on a short hike and camp for the first time a couple weekends ago. It went pretty good but I want to know what others do to lighten the load that the wife needs to take. She wanted to keep packing and packing and packing. My pack ended up being 50+ lbs for an overnighter. Hers was 40lbs. Rediculous! 50+ lbs for me will last a few days.

Sorry man women pack more than us guys do, you have to get used to it. If we go to Moab for a week and took a 30 ft gooseneck I am sure my wife would have 20 totes ready to go on it "just in case" in addition to packing the pickup compeletley full

Sleeping bag for 2:whistle: food. And socks. Lots and lots of socks :D

we have an understanding, she can pack what ever she feels like as long as she carries it.
