Just finished installing my 2" rough country lift kit on my '76 K5 that I'm trying to get back on the road, and now I'm looking at tires to replace its 20 year old dry rotted 31x11.5x15 tires before I take it out on the road.

Rough country's reference says it'll fit a 33x12.5x15 with 4.5" backspacing.

I love the look of the stock rally 15x8 wheels and would like to keep them. I measured the back spacing at roughly 3.75-4"-ish backspacing. My dad said he seems to remember the 32x12.5x15 BFGs rubbing the springs at full lock when he ran them 20+ years ago, but I can't see how they could possibly rub with LESS backspacing than the rough country recommended setup.

Before I go spend $700 on new tires, will 33x12.5x15 tires rub on the stock wheels?

I've had 33's on stock rally's for 20+years, never an issue. With 4 1/2" bs, they will contact tie rod ends. 4"bs contacts on the pass side tie rod. I have a set of 10" rally's, they do not contact the spring at full lock.

Thanks guys! I got some 33s installed and there's plenty of room, granted I haven't tried to go full tuck or anything, but it's not like there's any rocks to climb around these parts anyway, lol. They look great!
