I picked up some 40" tires for my K5 now I'm looking for some rims that will place the tires even with the outside of the fenders. Does anyone have an idea of what offset/backspacing I should be looking at? Thanks in advance!

not going to get a 40" tire flush with the fender sides and be real functional if you ask me with out lots of work .
I'm using the hummer H2 wheels with 2" spacers and my rear is just about flush and the front poke out a bit. 40×13.50R17

I would say right about 4.5" of backspace. How wide are they? You're probably going to rub the drag link if you don't have crossover and the frame.
The rims I'm looking at right now are 17x10. Tires are 40x13.5.
What wheels? What's the backspacing?
Backspacing: 4.54, Offset -18
They are purchased and on the way. I'll post an update later on how they turned out.
