When is a deep b.s. rim too much for a SRW? And vice versa with a DRW, too.

I just got some H2 rims today and while they measure 17" x 8.5", they have a 5.75" b.s. I'm almost gonna say these would fit better on DRW axles instead. I've seen these rims on SRW and D44's before and they didn't look too bad at all. So what do you think? H2's on SRW or DRW? Which looks better?

4-4.5" is about standard for our style SRW trucks. H2 wheels look pretty good on the SRW trucks because the rim is 1.5" wider than the stock wheels.

Much more than 4.25" and you can start having clearance issues on the steering components.

If memory serves we had a truck in the shop that had the tie rod rubbing the rim edge. 4.5" BS I think....

I was wondering about the tie rod hitting the H2's also. I don't have any axles to put the H2 up to check for clearance at the moment.

Has anyone seen the H2's on a DRW D60/70? Pics?

While I remembered DaPlumbers '91 Burb is running H2's and 1 tons, I thought a little more about this and figured the rim is larger in diameter at 17" and therefore should not make contact with the tie rod or knuckle. The rim would actually wrap around it, if that makes sense.

I'd still like to see pics of the H2 on a DRW setup. I don't want to run H2's on 3/4 ton or SRW 1 tons and decide the stance is too narrow.

Yeah im running 40x13.50 mt/rs on h2's and SRW's one tons. No issues with hitting steering stuff, but they do stick in alot. They dont offer much protection for the body, im thinking about running like a 1" or 1 1/2" spacers. I think they be almost prefect for DRW's

I've got H2's on mine and they BARELY clear the tierod ends (and I mean barely). I may have to take my balance weights off and just run Airsofts in the tires, that's how close the tierod ends are to the wheels. IIRC the TRE boots clear the weights by 1/16 of a inch, if they clear at all (wheels are mounted but, the Jimmy is still sitting in the shop, crate motor has yet to be fired, gotta do some more wiring yet). We'll see once it's up an running. I've got a Dana 60 front and 14BFF rear, I've got 1.5" spacers for the back wheels, no spacers or anything up front, the stance looks good IMO (3" lift 37x12.50 Cooper STT muds):

Stephen from ORD runs H2s on Wally and runs spacers. I think the only reason he does is because of his custom steering arms for full hydro. Maybe give him a call and pick his brain.

ive been thinking that h2's would be perfect for DRW60/70HD, if i didnt already have my h1's and tires id probably go with the h2's with that axle setup for sure

Doesn't CBBR have h2s on his srw axles? Might wanna take a look at some of his pics
