I'm surprised how well this K5 held up to the rollover. The show roll bar help up rather well. I'm thinking about adding a show roll bar to my K5. It is better then nothing. My 78 has the integrated rollbar. Also the window pillar held up ok in these picks. It was bent in only a little. Still looks like a bad rollover however but it could have been worse with out the roll bar.

Looks like a factory roll bar to me. The 'show' bars were usually chrome and larger tubing.

Ouch! Thats the worst.

My old landlord one day was outside my apartment, as I went out to hop in my K5 and leave, he gave my truck a nasty look, so I stopped and asked how his day was going: He ended up telling me about how a friend of his in high school (in the 70s probably) rolled a K5 and survived but was trapped inside. The truck caught on fire and unfortunately the guy burned to death. My landlord said this all happened right in front of him.

Its a terrible story but something that needs to be considered when you get to that point of modding/wheeling when a roll cage is on the "to do" list.

In looking at the other pictures, the right front was the only tire without air. I'm thinking he rolled the bead off at speed.
I wonder what it sold for.

Based on the broken wheel and grass shoved into the wheel, i would say it landed hard on that wheel.
