I'll answer these indivually so I don't lose anything. If ya look close you can see the cam gear dot at 12:00, 90* cw from the pin "hole", which is correct like I say, Milodon timing set is correct. The cam "pin" should be at 03:00 with the next event at ~90 AFTDC is #1 exhaust valve, which is the lobe that does open #1 ex on this lump. This lump is ex #1 ~90* before the cam's index pin, should be ~90* after the pin, ie 180* out.76zimmer said:Are the 2 dots on the gears lining up when you have the cam gear dot at 6oclock? If those index together, it should be correct valve timing.
So yea, I'm sure it's 180* out and now thinking back, I don't trust this stick no matter how far I can toss it; like I said at the post, it didn't have the traditional ID on the butt end either. No one can afford to take a chance on something this integral to the motor. I can wait until at least 08:00 TN time tomorrow to find out if this wasn't part of a production run of turkeys cooked-up about the end of Nov.SierraClassic said:Are you sure it isn't just 180 degrees out? That isn't impossible to do, and would be far easier than calling comp cams for a new cam, lol
