The factory speakers on the dash of my 87 are bad I guess. When Im driving slow and turn or use the brakes the front speakers make a really bad crackleing noise. Sometimes it makes my rear speakers go out when it happens. How can I stop this from happening? Can I just cut the wires that go to the speakers?

I'm thinking you need to look for some loose wires. If your front speakers are bad then they should sound bad all the time not just when turning or braking.

It sounds like you have a couple of wires touching or just grounding out on the body. I had two wires touching and that was the problem. yes you can just cut the wires if you don't want to try to fix it, but make sure you put some tape on the wires so they don't ground out on the body.

yea thats what I was thinking. Thanx for the replies. How hard is it to get to these speakers? Am I gonna have to pull the dash off?
