I just wanted to share my bad day with everyone. This is why my blazer is in the garage.

I'm very new to this so if i dont do this right please let my know how to do it right.

The first pic was the morning
the last pic you can see the color of my exahust after the hole. I was in there for 3 1/2 hours.

The moral of my story is dont go without another truck...LOL

I was about 40 miles out of town.

Wheelin solo is never a good idea...

What did you end up doing to the motor?

Rene

I'm not totaly sure yet. I know i blew the rear main seal on the engine. I think i also blew a few rod bearings and maybe damaged the cam shaft. I'm saving up some money to take it down to my mechanic.

I'm not a mechanic, i'm learning slowly but still dont know much.

I have to say i have learned more in the short time i've been on this sight then i have in years. I'm planing a full membership as soon as i can afford it.

Thank You to everyone for you knowlage and opinions.

Yea, never wheel alone. also you have now learned why I LIne Xd my interior. I know the mil trucks had rubber mats, but even that will hold water under it. so becareful of rust thru the floors.

Hey even wheelin with friends is sometimes a bad idea. My truck was in a mudhole for 2-3 hours the other night because me and the other guy got stuck simultaneously. Lucky i was only a few miles from a friend. Good walk though :haha:

good luck on the motor hunt :(

also take a long stick / broom handle / what ever and check the depth of the hole first.

i dont know how many times now i have been called out to pull out peoples rides from stupid drivers behind the wheel that thinks its just a water hole .

I agree. The best part of the hole was the fack that i had been throught it about 5 times the week leading up to this.

I think a truck with bigger tires and less traction dug some mean holes. As i was going through it i was moving fine like the time's before. Then the truck dropped and no longer moved. I was worried about shutting the truck off because of how deep the water was so i let it run the whole time. I think i should of shut it off...

Ohhh well as i try to tell people...

You Have To Pay To Play!!! I will just build it stonger

Well I went into a similar hole and ended up with mud up to the door handle.
I was in there for about 5 minutes going back and forth trying to get up the steep ledges of the hole.
In the end I was out backwards after I nearly rolled it sideways trying to get out on the side.
Going home I lost the alternator. a few weeks later pieces of my clutch started to fall off.
The engine was fine though, I was lucky I have a commercial style air filter on my 5.9l TD.
I never got in mud after that though, not worth it.:o

I have been in that situation before, except water almost over the hood. I shut it down before it hydrolocked. Made sure I pulled the plugs before I turned it over. But checking holes depth is key. Don't go in the deep end if you can't swim!

The funny part is that a month or so before this fun i tried to pull out a truck stuck in snow. Well i moved him a good ways but could not get him back up on the road.
I tried to pull him one last time... then i broke both rear u joints snapped my yoke and cracked the transfer case housing...

The blazer was on the road for 8 day's!

Now back in the garage
