The guy at the autoshop I use said my rt rear injector is leaking around the seal, can I just replace the one or do they all need to be replaced at once (money matters)?

How do I know whether I need the fine or coarse threads?

I had the rearmost drivers side one on my 6.2 start dripping--thought it was leaking where the two sections screw together and a copper washer seals it--but closer inspection showed the little rubber "cap" on the "extra" return line nipple was split.and the hoses were cracked and leaky too..

I bought a few feet of Tygon 1/8" fuel line at a lawn mower repair shop and used that instead of the expensive black rubber GM ones, with the bastard teeny clamps you cant hardly see--the tygon just pushes on and will NOT come off without breaking ,needs no clamps, and it stands up to diesel fuel just fine...I used a short piece on the injector nipple that needed to be capped off, with a small stove bolt threaded in the other end to block it off...hasn't leaked a drop since..

I would not replace all the injectors unless they were all giving grief,myself...even if I had money to burn...

I think only the 82 engines had course thread injectors, most were painted red too,not black...

I saved a 6.2 a friend had with a busted crank, but all the rest of it intact for parts, rather than see it get scrapped..for 20 bucks, it was a good investment-I have a spare injector pump, lines (rusty but useable),and exhaust manifolds, injector pump,block,heads,etc...if I had a good crank I might even be able to make it run again, but its been outside covered up with no oil pan a few years...might be rusty inside now..

Vacuum cap . . .

It was a cracked vacuum cap on the fuel return fitting, easy fix. Thx for all the help though.
