so.. i was driving home.. got off the freeway... and behold! My truck shut off..
there was a bunch of smoke coming from under the hood.
I pop the hood . and disconnected my battery cable . I guess my cable moved a bit and was sitting on my exhaust manifold. melted the plastic and grounded out??. when I turn the key on, No fuel pump or nothing comes on, Try to start it, and not even a click from the starter.. ( yes I did hook the battery cables back up :eek1:). I hop underneath with my flashlight. and Notice a fluid Dripping down quite fast.. turns out my gas lines started leaking too.. It's leaking onto the top of my tranny bellhousing. and was smoking!! OOO how bad could that be if it was a little hotter ehh ?. Anyway. besides my gas line, I can fix that tomorrow. Just replace the lines. What could be the reason the truck isn't getting power? Could I have grounded out the positive cable . and drained the juice in the battery?
or what damages could i be looking at

If you grounded out the positive cable, you probably have a fuseable link blown somewhere.

Trace your battery cable to starter, then from starter to distribution block. You'll find these little modules on the cables, if they get flexible, or look burnt or melted, that is your culprit.

ya sure? sometimes the factory fusable links are difficult to see the burn out...

take a test light and start poking around, working from the battery out... check for juice over at the junction block just to the passenger side of the brake booster, that's your cab feed, if none, it's a fusable link......
