Using the old convertor is the worse thing you could do for a new tranny. EVERYTHING that was bad with the old tranny went through the convertor and may have ruined your new tranny.
How Exactly Would It Destroy The New Trans?
Easily, all the bad clutch and steel material from the old tranny is in your old convertor and with it installed in your new tranny everything that was in your old convertor goes through your new tranny.
