That is what I used in my tires Equal that is, With regular valve stem with no problems, works great my buddy has same tires and his shakes like hell!!!! 6oz. per tire toss the bag in and at 6 MPH walla bag breaks and tire balanced!!! Exept for speeds under about 20 mph

Like I said, golf balls always work, and they make a cool thunking noise when the hit the rims. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I am going to use mouse balls. You know, the little balls that are in computer mice. They have a steel core with a rubber coating, I think that they'll work perfectly. I am going to run about 12-15 in each 42" tire. </font color>

Shaving the tread is really the only way. You would need SOOOO much weight on some of the tires, the couldn't fit it on the rim. Take it to a tire shop and get them to shave them. Local shop here charges $20 per tire. My friend has the exact same tires...cold or whatever, the are balanced like radials.

One of my friends had a tractor trailer shop balance his tires with Equal and they threw in a handfull of bb's to keep the powder from clumping up. We tried straight bb's but they didn't work well enough and they were loud when driving around town. He's had the 38's up to about 90mph and they ride smooth as can be. (although I wouldn't recommend doing 90 on swampers, its kinda scary)

I'm using Equal in my 42's and they work good up til 70mph. I have about 9 oz. in each. I used BBs on some 38.5 Gumbo Mudders I used to have. The tires were out of round but the BBs did help.

i know weights and patches dont work. first time you chunk a knob from a rock its back out of balance. bb's or golf balls is the way to go. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I have 39.5-15-15- TSL's and they drive fine without them balanced. It rides smooth as glass at 65 but it gets a little shaky around 75. Personally I wouldn't bother balancing them. Maybe put BB's in them.

Keith,

Sent you a PM about your 42's a while back. How many Golf Balls did you put in each tire? I have noticed my new beadlocks and 38's have some vibrations, will the golf balls fix this you think? Thinking of going with 42's before spring, any info helps.

I have Equal in my 38.5 SX's and still get some bad vibes on the highway. Maybe I'll try to add some BB's.

Tried the BB's cant tell the difference with them out. Keith has not driven his 42's enough to know if the golf balls work, he is afraid to wheel it. He aint even got the damn front driveshaft in it.

I have equal on 39.5 boggers,started with 8oz and they added more twice(dont know how much) and at 70-75+ they bounce bounce bounce...also I didnt think equal clumped? Isnt it a non-absorbent sand like material?

The BB's aren't that loud. You only hear them right when you come to a stop and they sound like one shake of the maracas (sp?)

I am running 38-13's when I got them they rode like crap after I got a few miles on them they smoothed up. when i first mounted them I left them over 16 oz's out of balance now I have no whieghts on them and the ride GREAT!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Its not worth all the hassle. You should just go back to 33's and go to the mall /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I now have some death wobble but I think I have that figured out and will have it fixed soon. I run 7 golf balls per tire.

Keith, sorry to hear you were finally infected with the dreaded DeAtH WoBbLe. Hydro-Assist helps though.

Layne, my 39.5 TSLs with Rockstomper beadlocks and welded in pet-cocks are not balanced at all. They really aren't too bad. I do have vibes around 55 to 60mph though. I try to go a little faster or a little slower than that. If you find a method that works well, please let us know.

I had someone tell me that about a half gallon of antifreeze works. Cant say ive done it but it might be worth a try.

from what i heard the new equal doesnt clump, moisture does not affect it, i will be getting equal n my tires later on this week to see if i like it. if i dont ill just go back to weights.
