anyone have any experience balancing weld prostar wheels? i have a lug centric adapter for my tire machine but the lugs are not long enough for the wheels...

I always balanced them from the center. The floating center piece stays in place when it's clamped down, and it doesn't need to be perfectly centered to get a good balance.

i tried that, got it balanced after much a do, then took it off the machine put it back on and it wasnt balanced, called weld they said i need some fancy adapter, got the fancy adapter and it doesnt fit the wheels, called the fancy adapter manufacturer and they just talked to me like i was an idiot and basically told me that their $400 pos doesnt fit everything....

I never had any troubles with them, just balance and throw them on the car. I used to mess with those all the time, but it's been over 10 years. If it's only off by 1/4 once you'll never feel it. Also I personally ran a set of them, no shakes even over 100mph.

Also, if you have the correct lug nuts, it should fit your adapter. What's the thread pitch on the studs of the adapter?
