88 1/2 ton- my passengerside lower balljoint has some slop in it, my manual says I could adjust some of it by removing the upper balljoint nut and turning adjusting sleeve. Will this work? I already bought the new joints, but I am feeling a bit lazy. Has anyone tried this? Please let me know your results, thanks.

You can assume that since the lower joint already has some "slop" in it that any compensation you do (I personally have never heard of an adjustment, per se) is only a temporary fix, as the joint is probably on its way out. My advice would be to replace them all.../forums/images/icons/smile.gif

yep time to redo em.
not a bad job to do even for the weekend mech.
Might as well do it all while yer at it, u-joints and such, it is all apart any way.
