Ball joint eliminator

So how do you rebuild? Press a new bronze bushing in?

The other thing worth discussing is their eliminator kit for the D60. How much more desirable is a balljoint 60 in a square, with that kit available?

As a mechanic for years ..... skip any ball joint newer axle design if you can . They suck in design of all the parts and the quality of ball joints sucks anymore .

I am still rolling on my king pin 60 i freshened up in like 01 or 02 and have only put in a new set of springs 1 time for a cost of 20 bucks . .

Even if i had a brand new custom built axle made it would gett king pin design .

Read the whole description. The mention must not use on public roads and off road used only three times at least. Plus it only eliminates the upper. My question is why? What’s the point? I understand they don’t want any liability driving on the street but that kind of defeats the purpose of a truck that gets driven to the trail.

I’ve never broken one on either of my 2 44’s I’ve run. I’ve damaged one when a u-joint broke and the ears of the shaft tagged the underside of the upper joint.

I agree if you need the added strength to eliminate the upper ball joint just get a 60.

Yea I’m not getting it? I’ve broken a lot of axle parts, ball joints not being one, they’ve work out over the years and I’ve popped a set out of the sockets when an axle joint grenaded and the shafts overrode each other….seems sketchy to me. Not knocking them just don’t get the point of them….
As for a ball joint 60, that would be tricky to get in a square because any I know of are drivers drop, so won’t with factory drivetrain then you have that pesky issue of the passenger side spring perch cast into the housing and as said, you also get unit bearings, and in the dodge case a weaker CAD tube.

Not trying to hijack this thread but I was thinking of these for the Dana 44? http://www.bonefishfab.com/

Each set does one side both, top and bottom joints. Still pricey. I was trying to get rid of the always having to replace warn out ball joints from "larger tires".

Won't either of these designs work on 10B?

Dang, mine need changed but its a daily driver with stock tires so they last 5-10 years.
