Ball Joint Spanner Socket

Just curious but why would you sell a specialty socket, or any tool for that matter? I could understand if you needed cash really bad but $15.00 sure isn't about to make you rich by any means.

Once I buy a tool I NEVER sell it, you never know when it will come in handy again either for your own vehicle or on someone else's that you'll make money on repairing.

Mainly.....budget money is UP! I would normally keep such a small tool but realistically, I will only use it one time and then let the alignment shop touch it from there if any shims are necessary. I don't need it sitting in my tool box for no reason. I WILL keep the hub socket though......

No, I'm not getting rich on this sale but the unexpected keeps popping up during this ball joint job. Unexpected costs - Tie-Rod end - $19, Axle Shaft U-Joints $75, New Tie-Rod and Adjuster - $61 and an alignment too....$50 (forgot about that). They just add up.

I am respecting my wife by staying on budget (thanks also to Dave Ramsey). $10,000 is a lot but I quickly approached that number and I want to be sure I honor that number. I'm lucky and thankful we both agreed on that amount (for a $3500 truck).

Scott, I really do appreciate your advise (in other threads). You have helped me out a lot....thanks!
