Ball Joint Spanner -source?

Need to find the spanner socket for the adjusting sleeves for a D44... so far the only places i have found any are Snapon and Mac... or Ebay...
anyone know of a place i could pick one up locally?
I checked all the usual suspects: Kragen, Napa, Autozone and came up dry

I got one from the local tool supply place or I'm sure your better parts store like napa, car quest, sp automotive would have one or order and have the next day for you

Got mine from snap on $15.
Find a shop in your area and find out when the dude stops in.
Most likely he will have it on the truck or can have it the following week.

I bought mine for $20 at Napa. They won't have one on the shelf, they will have to get off their a$$es and get out the big book that is about 400 pages thick, it will be in there. I don't think that there is a hand tool or service tool that Napa can't order, they just have to be able to find it in their book.

I have bought two from local auto stores...both of them broke I am sure snap on or Mac are much better quality, but I just finally made my own from a 19-20mm deep socket. Took and angle grinder with a thin wheel and about 15 minutes. Take the nut and a sharpie and mark the areas on the socket that need to be cut out.....or buy a good one..I'm just cheap

You can make one...

I made mine out or $4, 3/4" 1/2" drive socket. I used one of the new adjusting sleeves to mark where the cuts had to be made and used an angle grinder to grind out the end of the socket to form the four prongs. It's worked great so far and was easy to make.

Getting it off the truck is the way to go. I had to order mine online from Snap-On and the shipping cost was as much as the tool. Now that I've used it, I would recommend just taking a deep socket and cutting it down to fit the sleeve. Like has been said before, you can use the sleeve in the new ball joint to see how to cut the socket.
