I think my ball joints may be bad or starting to go. When I'm driving and turn at speed I get a wawawawawawa/howling sorta sound but only when the wheel is turned. It gets louder the faster you're driving and its louder when the wheel is turned to the left.

I have a blown ujoint now and I thought since the whole knuckle has to be torn down I might as well replace the ball joints and get rid of that noise. My truck started making the noise over the summer and I do know that the ball joints were replaced 4 years ago. I do keep them greased, but could they be bad?

sounds like you have blown out wheel bearings time for a dana 60 hahaha jk jack the front end of the truck up put on jack stands and grab the top and botom of the tire and lift up and down if you feel any play in it your wheel bearings are most likely toast but thats also a way to check your balljoints at the same time.

I just took apart the whole driver side kuckle and the wheel bearings are definately bad along with the ball joints. I did the passengerside wheel bearings not to long ago when I had to replace some wheel studs. But on the bright side the passengerside ball joints are solid.

check your ujoints on the drive lines. when they go, they make a serious whine....
