Is anyone running the spring less hi steer arms? how are they? I need a new box and drag links so Im thinking of getting some of their arms. How can I get High steering with out breaking the bank???

Only complaint is that they are too long for the E-series van pitman arms.

I will be copying the design but shorter some day in the future. Springless is the way to go and these are the only shimless ones I have seen (haven't looked in a while though).

We should have some springless arms soon.

Realize that these do require periodic adjustment that the stock spring/bushing assembly don't.

When the stock bushing wears a little, the spring takes up the slack and you never notice. Without the spring, there is slop and you'll know it (death wobble etc.).

That doesn't mean that arms that don't use spring are bad, far from it, just that they need more attention. Kind of like using solid lifters instead of hydraulic lifters in a motor. Not something that needs really needs consistent attention but something you'd want to keep tight before it causes an issue.

I still think NWF has the nicest arms out.. i like the new springless ones better than ballistacs just because they are angled in, not straight, which can save ya with deep backspacing..

I bought there arm(va4x4) when i did my alcans, they have the taller 2 inch high arm to clear the springs....real good prices and great service, i ordered it friday and it was here monday...great guys to deal with.

That one looks nice, another plus with them is that they have taken ackerman angle into consideration.
Balllistic and many others haven't done that.

I prefer spring loaded arms though, I'm an "install an forget" kind of guy...

But most important is to make sure they work with the pitman arm you use.
The ballistic arm is really long, even for use with a Superlift 1104 pitman arm...

A good rule of thumb is to keep the steering arm not more than 1.1 times longer than the pitman arm,
if you wanna be able to steer fully even under articulation...
And I believe the 1104 arm is 7" long (but maybe there are longer ones out there:dunno:)

To be safe I would even prefer them to be of equal length,
I don't think it's good to let the steering box bottom out before the knuckles.

Wow, did not realize they did that! :eek1:

That definitely would not work well with the pitman arm that most of us use. Not sure what their plan was there, both of our steering arms (crossover and full hydro) have their holes in between those two, you'd need a super long pitman to use the outside hole or lose steering power using the inside one (plus the draglink and tie rod would overlap which almost always causes clearance problems).
