It's time to start my brake lines on my build. All new lines and calipers. I am going with some AN Stainless hoses to my calipers from my frame.

My question is do I need to use a banjo bolt setup or can I use this adapter?

It is a 10MM to 4AN adapter with crush sleeves.

FYI this is going in my 72 K5 with a Dana 60 front. (Yes the calipers have the 10MM hole for the Banjo bolt. I thought they were supposed to be 7/16 20.

I don't see why not. The only issue I see with the AN adapter is that it could stick the brake line into something where it shouldn't be. Turn the wheels lock to lock while watching the caliper and see which adapter clears the best.
BTW, make sure that adapter has the correct thread pitch.

It's doubful that the adapter with crush washers would clear the given area for mounting. Why not just buy the premade extended stainless brake lines?

my set up is very similar.

On my buggy I have 90 degree fittings and its 10 mm

On my white truck I have the fitting you show and its 7/16

or vice versa

I chose to do mine this way because I seem to be able to destroy anything, so a three piece line means I can repair it very quickly by only swapping the actual line and not dealing with any fittings. I have about 15-30.00 into each brake line. I got all my parts at local speed shops or circle track shops. Fittings were 4 to 7.00 and lines ranged based on length.

Unless I'm missing something.. (highly possible) it appears to have plenty of room to come straight up with the adapter and hose. I may even make a bracket to attach the line to the kingpin cap bolts.

h.

I was using the same train of thought~~ Easy enough to keep spare hoses in the trail box. 24-30" AN style ends for $14

My other concern would be the hose end loosening up when the wheels are turned back and forth. (Maybe a little of my Aircraft Maint days would help... SAFETY WIRE!)

What year are those calipers from? :ears:

Looks like those fittings would work on your calipers but there is no way they would work on mine.

My D60 calipers have the hose coming in from the side not the top like yours.

Got them at O'Reilly Auto parts.
Loaded calipers. They are Wagner remans. TQM25046

Yes it will work. I'm using the same one. My only issues were that the crush washer didn't want to center very well (hold it centered while tightening fitting) and the SS hose came close to the tire. (tacked a tab on the knuckle to hold it to the side)
