Does anyone have a picture of how their muffler is hung on a 4wd Suburban with the Banks 6.2l turbo? My kit came off of a 2wd and I had to replace the head pipe with a 4wd version, but the rear muffler hanger (factory) is too low which is putting the muffler down at an angle.

Any help is appreciated.

Off topic, what did you wind up doing about your turbo?

I found one from a shop in California, its a Garrett center section. The Borg Warner piece kept getting delayed by weeks.

Cool. I never did hear back from that guy I mentioned. I did learn the banks was originally from an IH tractor. Just bought a similar Garrett USA unit for $400 from flea bay. I haven't been able to cross reference the banks # with any current unit.

BTW, I did locate a part number for the banks CHRA. Cheapest I could find was $395. Got the new turbo for $420 ish with tax.

Banks CHRA info:

The CHRA (complete housing rotating assembly) for the Banks 24004 is Garrett part number 408105-5371S

I got it for $328, CHRA 311457. That number is forever burned into my search bar. It runs great and I can keep up with traffic on hills so I’m happy!

This is from the installation manual...

Yea I have that one, I think I need to spin the muffler so the input is hi and the outlet is low. Set up the way in the manual the outlet hits the factory bracket and tilt down at an an angle. It took it off a rusted ‘83 2wd dually suburban so the pipes are stuck solid.
