OK so I am back here and i am getting ready to revive an old truck that had been sitting for 6 years when it stopped running.
I need to diagnose so I need to disconnect everything and need to know what is required to run the 6.2 and what makes it not run.
I disconnected to the fuel filter and will be using a seperate container with a new inline filter to bypass old fuel and all the fuel system.
and I will be putting all new glow plugs with manual setup to bypass the glow plug system, and I will be supplying power directly to the IP.
It's an 84 so it's the round plug six point controler.
Is there any thing else I need to isolate like shut off solenoid or...
I just need to simplify the setup to find the problem.
Thanks guys, I have been away from diesels for a while so point out even the obvious.

All you need is between 2 & 20 PSI of fuel pressure supplied to the IP, 12 volts applied to the glow plugs, injection pump fuel cut off solenoid and the starter solenoid.

I have an electric fuel pump for fuel supply which I believe puts 8-10 PSI.
Glow plugs and IP supplied with power. So I need to suppliy the fuel cut off solenoid with power too to make sure it's not cutting off fuel?
Thanks for the reply.

The fuel cutoff solenoid is inside the injection pump, and is the part that you are switching on and off with the ignition switch inside the cab
