ok so ive been around here for awhile but only recently joined. ive been reading all of the build threads on the blazers and trucks and id figured id start my own so here it goes

so i bought a 1979 k-10 bonanza for 500 dollars, it ran but was in no way street legal.

this is how it looked the day i bought it

well when i got it it had a carb on that wouldnt let the engine rpm's go past like 2000 and it wondered all over the road, but it was bought for wheelin anyway so it wasent to bad

not a bad truck man... mine wandered all over the place too... but that was just bad tires in the front...

here are some more pics of the work that i have been doing
020.jpg

so i lost the bed because the floor was rusted enough to fall threw and only like 2 bolts were holding it on
021.jpg

then i bought a 770 holley truck avenger almost new off of my budy for 25 bucks so it went on and the quadrajunk came off
025.jpg

then i relized i had a fancy 100 mph gauge
the i wheeled if for about 5 or 6 months just like that then my trans got full of water so i decided i would rebuild it

things didnt work out very well lol

then during the winter time my block decide to freeze and bust leaving me with no engine or trans so i decide to go head first into a restoration

so i pulled the cab off and began stripping it down to a bare frame

088.jpg

so i didnt plan on going this far down but i wanted my frame to be apotless and this seemed to be the only way

so here it is today with a 52'' front spring swap and all painted lookin pretty
0782.jpg

then i started getting rid of the rust which was both rocker panels and floor boards and cab corners

this is the passenger side almost done but thats as far as i got now because of college and limited funds
im hoping to get all my metal work done this weekend and start going back together

Nice so far. What did you do for hangers for the front of the springs? Did you buy a bracket or flip the factory brackets side to side?

for the front spring hangers i just fliped the sides, i think it will work pretty good. ill get more pics a soon as i get back to school, there we dont have dial up so i can load pics

just got a christmas present from the brown clothed santa, new cab corners. after the cab corners are in there will be no more rust left on my body.......finally

ok so today i hade the chance to buy a manual clutch setup for 30 bucks. I was wondering if anyone is running a manual clutch and how they like it?

Great job so far, keep after it, your making good progress. Welcome to the site.

well i havent be able to work on the old truck. i was driving down the interstate in my DD when the oil pump decided to bite the dust and then i bent a rod so out with the old TBI and in with the new TBI.
The one good thing about blowing a motor in a newer truck is that if you buy a whole new motor you get to have a serpentine setup on the old truck haha

well i havent kept up do to a really busy schedule with school and work and all kinds of crap but i have gottin alot done, ill post some pics when i can

How does that Harbor Frieght Easy Mig 100 do? I've got one of their stick welders and you can only weld for about two inches before it trips a 20 amp circuit breaker.
