Has anybody else purchased one of these? I got mine the other day and was not impressed. The inside of the cover had been clearanced with a grinder so that it would not hit the bearing cap. Poor design.... I actually had to remove an additional 1/8 of material in the bearing cap area to make it fit. Also, I did not ask for a drain plug, and got one anyways. That plug is guaranteed to get knocked of by a rock.

Just a heads up, in case you were thinking about buying one of these.

I've never heard of Barnes 4WD before but I assume this is a cover that was welded together from plate steel? Are they a new company? If so, this may be one of the first ones they have made. If I were the company, I wouldn't ship a cover until it fit correctly (ya know, without grinding ;)). I'd call and complain.

I know Brad fairly well and ride with him some,he's a stand up guy, give him a call.I really think he'll take care of it.

He has some stuff out sourced and he might not have saw first hand the cond of it.

It is a plate steel cover. I don't know if they are a new company, but they have an e-bay store, which is how I got it. I think Barnes is a distributor for ruff stuff. I will try and contact them tomorrow.
