barrel nut size?

Has anyone used barrel nuts to install the fender emblem on a k5 mines a 77. Its got new paint and i dont want to take the fenders off to put the emblems and my buddy said to use barrel nuts but i dont know what size. Thanks in advance.

good 3m double sided sticky tape also works super . oem used these days on most everything.

The back of the emblems are not flat thanks anyways.
