Have this over on my other thread. http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226437

But I need answer fast.. Want to go wheeling this weekend.

96 Vortec motor with Edlebrocks MPFI. Same sensors, TBI (Minus injectors) and ecm from my 90K5.

If I pull the EST bypass (Tan/Black wire) the timing shows 0 for awhile then you can hear the idle pickup and when I dial the timing advance on the light it shows about 25.

I have checked the wiring and saw nothing. I will start ohming wires when I get home today.

Module checks good, Coil checks out oK. A little below specs. Range was 6000 to 3000 mine was 5800. Dist. is a MSD pro billet and doesn't seem to be a problem no slop.. New plug wires and plugs.

Any other ideas?

Does pulling the bypass only keep the EST out of the picture and most functions of the ECM still working?
