restoring 11973 Blazer and will be running two batteries.j We use batteries with threaded terminals on the 18 wheelers at work. I really prefer that type terminal.
Thinking about Optima marine batteries. Pros, cons?

Thanks for any input

Fred

Yellow Top Optima

The optima yellow top 9 (deep cycle) is what the Air Force EOD, explosive ordnance disposal, units use in their robots. If they're good enough to use on bomb difussing robots they should be good enough for a truck.
I work in the battery shop here on base and we seldom have problems with them. We only see them when the users have let them go dead and we just put them on a slow charge for a couple of days and they always come back...
The CCA rating is lower than the red tops however...

is it true you guys put the batteries in the freezer?

Yes

We get the ones with top terminals and some with both. I'm using a red top w/ side terminals on my Blazer now...

battery not in freezer

The only thing in our Battery Shop freezer is a turkey we won at the enlisted club at Thanksgiving. Probably time to throw it away I guess.
