anyone know of a good battery? i know thats a question for a noobie. but i was looking at interstate battery and 7 year warranty and cheaper than optima. i am wanting to run dual batteries in parallel and no isolator. and many people have told me its good to have 2 of same age, make and cca so they can charge equally. i have a red top optima that is about a year old and didn't know should i get another red top or just 2 of some other battery that has around 800-1000 cca for cheaper. so anyone know of a good battery that fits in the trays?

I am OPTIMA faithful even though a few years ago interstate company bought the optima line and now produce them. Not actualy a bad thing interstates a great battery brand as far as Im conserned. My newest batt's are all optima red tops I have about 7 of them 4 are about 4 years old and the other 3 are somewhere between 3 years and 6 months old. I take that back I did buy 2 cheap batts for the crew cab. But anyway I say buy the optima.

it would not have any negative effect running a 1-2 year old red top and a new redtop together, either that or my old red and one new yellow with a isolator

Red Top Optima!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what I've got and love it! When I get my new plug for the alternator to finish my dual battery setup w/ isolator I'm going to get rid of the 880 CCA aux bettery that's in there and try a new yellow top. :D

Optima, Optima, Optima, they don't leak and last forever. I used to buy cosmetic blems(Same warranty) in Culver City, Cal for $50. I know some battery warehouses have them.

Wal mart Maxx:D Can't beat them. Cheap and no hassle warrenty. I have been using them for years with no complaints.

BTW. Optima batteries are not made by Interstate batterys. Interstate is an approved optima dealer/retailer. Optima is a division of Johnson Controls. They are also the same company that makes Wal Mart batteries.
