What is a good dry cell? As where I am putting them I don't want leaks.

I know for a while there was a bad bunch of optimas. Are they still junk? If not which one?

In the same boat. What about the Deka AGM's. Anyone using them?

We use some Deka's in some boats we build. They are a great battery. I recommend Odyssey myself. I have two in my K5 for the winch and they are both 15 years old. Still pull like mad. They seem to be the best batteries we've used. But, like a Deka, they are proud of them.

I've been using 2 yellow top optimas since march 2015 with no complaints. Even dropped one out of my truck and cracked the shell. Epoxied the crack and it's still going.

Another vote for Odyssey.

I have a 6 year old diehard platinum(rebranded odyssey) in my truck. Survived the vegas heat and now northern utah winters. If it dies I will replace it with the same. Since Sears no longer caries the diehard platinum series, I will have to get it directly form odyssey

Well @Deulings diehard has a hole in it and still works. I ran my optima over and it still works.

Kieth would get "dead" optima's at his old job and bring them back to life all the time. prob had close to 10 yellow and red tops that people swore were done. I had a sears platinum in my last JK and it worked great

Yes I had a optima once actually two. And if you let them sit for a couple of weeks to a month they were dead. A battery should hold a charge longer then that.

I bought 2 Deka AGM batteries in the last year. No long term experience yet.
