Not a truck, but it doesn't matter. 2006 Pontiac GP. No history of issues. Was a little slow to turn over yesterday after work. This morning the solenoid would click, but that's it.

Grabbed a multi-meter after work today. Battery read 9 volts when I got home. It read 13.8-14.5 after I jumped the car and let it idle for a few seconds. After ~2 minutes of idling I shut it off, and it read 10.9 volts and was unable to restart. Let it idle for 15 minutes or so, battery now reads 12.3 V and car re-starts fine.

I was initially thinking fried cell but the 12V reading after idling really messed me up. It is the OE sealed Delco battery, and there is no lens. Gotta shower and grab a wrench to see if there's a small drain when the car is shut off, but does anyone have any suggestions? There could be a million things I guess, but given that the car is relatively new it eliminates a lot of possibilities in my mind.

Yep, 6 cells = 12 volts. I'm just surprised that it was somehow drawn down to 9 but seemingly recovered. Usually they're no longer usable once they get drawn down that far. Fired right over a few minutes ago.

Idling. If your battery reads 14+ with the vehicle shut off, you need to start running.

Don't know yet. It's dark, I'm tired, and I'll surge the ****er with 200 amps if it doesn't turn over tomorrow morning. :deal:

I'll the positive terminal off tomorrow at work and measure the draw.
