You guys make changes to your battery boxes? Apparently jumping and bouncing the rig hard makes your battery box break so now gotta change something. Want to put a pair in the back and have 15 or so feet of large cable to do it with but want to see if anyone else has ideas. One thing I am afraid of putting in the rear is the draw from the winch that far back.

thinking i might find another battery tray for the stock location then put an aux batter in the rear. Anyone got a factory tray in decent shape they wanna sell?

I have one that I can't use because of an intercooler interference issue that I have. I'll look at it to see how good it is. It can't be too bad, because I used it prior to the introduction of an intercooler.

I'll be back in a few.

The drivers side tray does exist, I bought one online years ago from another First gen dude, can't recall witch 67-72 truck he got it out of but it bolted right into my 72K5 :D

I don't have a better pic that shows the tray, it is the same as the pass side just opposite.
Good Luck

Since the factory battery box is basically just three separate pieces welded together I had wondered how hard it would be to cut the welds out, and flip the side pieces to the opposite sides and re-weld it?

Didn't think it all the way through, but I remember at the time it seemed like a plausible idea...
