I have an 1986 k5 Blazer. I would like to add a second batter to the truck for snow plowing. Has anyone seen a factory bolt in battery tray? I thought maybe there was a option back then??

thanks

Justin

oh yeah, found the part number:

p\n 15616327 for 81-87 pickups and 81-91 blazers/suburbans

should cost around $50 at the stealership

go to a junk (salvage) yard. My 73 K20 came with it from the factory, and I know I've seen a bunch in yard all around the country.

I was looking through my LMC Truck catalog for Blazers (http://www.lmctruck.com) and they have what they call an "auxillary battery tray" or something of the sort for like $13. Check there.

Do you have a part number......I cant seem to figure out there website......or at least I can not find it on the website

thanks

Justin

Sorry bout that. I forget that not everyone knows WTH those mean. :D Look for a diesel or old military truck in the local salvae yard and you will probably find the tray.

any diesel...

All the GM trucks with the 5.7 and 6.2 diesel came with 2 batteries and battery trays factory..should be able to find them in a junkyard truck with a diesel..or buy them new using Ryan's part #'s..

That auxiliary battery tray is part # 38-6314, but it for years 73-80 only. The battery tray you want fits years 81-91. The passenger's side tray is part #38-6319 and goes for $40 and the driver's side tray is part #38-6318 and is $80.
