Just replaced the batteries in my 02 Duramax this morning.

So when I was hooking them up...I put the positive on both batteries, then went back and put the negative lead on one of the batteries. But it sparked when I installed it.

Went and put the other negative lead on the other battery. No spark when I did that.

Does that mean I have a draw somewhere.

Yes, the ECM and radio will draw power when first hooked up. It'll make a small spark but nothing to worry about.

Anything you have that runs a continuous power like radio ECM and clock will draw a few amps even off just Connecting The battery. It's normal to get a small one.

Passenger side battery goes directly to the starter. Drivers side goes to the electronics. So did the passenger not spark, and the drivers spark? If so thats normal.

If you wanna get all teknikal and stuff grab a NEER or two and a multemeter or other current indicatin' device then see what ya'll got for milimeter ampimeters after the truck has had the battries huked up fer a bit ;)

50mA er less n you're golden!

I hooked up the pass side first. That's the one that sparked.
The drivers side was still disconnected.
