I'm on the home strech of being able to drive my truck again after a year.It will not start on it's own(w/o a charger).

The ground wire that goes to the core support that is attached to the Neg.Batt.Term goes up in went up in smoke when I tried to turn the truck over. I turned the key, engine turned once slowly then clicked like it had adead battery then the wire burned up.

I then switched to another battery and put on another battery cable(NEG.)hit the key and it did the same F**king thing.

All connections are tight at the starter,battery,alternater...the second battery is only 1yr.old but it has been completely drained a few times trying to start the tractor.the first battery is around 3yrs. old and has been drained several times by a mysterious short that has been taken care of.I figured that one was toast. Both batteries are the Wal-mart Everstart brand.

That's about all I can tell you.PLEASE HELP!!! I just want to drive my damn truck!!

check the ground cable at the engine, the one at the core support probably burnt up because the main cable at the engine is probably not making a good connection.

the main ground cable that should be grounded to the engine (usually on the alternator bracket) is bad or not hooked up properly.

i did the same thing once. i forgot that cable and scorched the small wire to the core support.
