I'm getting ready to replace the battery cables on my truck, I bought some Taylor brand cables back in the day off summit and they have worked great but they are old and falling apart now.

I plan on 2 gauge wire but want to upgrade the terminal ends to the battery with something that will last years of abuse. I'm willing to spend the coin for something that is worth it. What is everyone's favorite?

I have top posts for the main cables and side posts for the Holley.

I've used these on a few trucks. Makes it easy to add anything you want with just 3/8" eyes.

I'm leaning towards this style but want to hear everyone's opinions.

I use this style terminals, when I build cables. They are will pretty much last forever. I have cables that are over 20 years old, and working perfectly. I crimp, solder and shrink wrap them with adhesive shrink. https://remybattery.com/cable-conne...minals/battery-terminal-clamp-connectors.html
I like those, my only concern is I have had my battery fly off the tray twice and the crimp style is currently pulling out exposing wire.

Definitely crimp then solder then adhesive lined heat shrink is the only way to do cable ends.
Yes, I have a hydraulic crimper just for this. They will be done exactly like this when done like the main power coming off the starter to power everything.

I started using these.
Reusable if you even need to change the cables again. No need for a crimper, even thou you have one.

Use these with the battery clamps that Luke pictured and you will have a nice clean sanitary setup.

You do know the battery cables are not what keeps the battery in place right?
That is next on my list, the little puck that holds it down doesn't really work that well. I'm afraid if I beef up that part it will rip the nuts out of the fender.

Sooooooo, whats everyone's favorite battery tray that can be placed under the hood in the same spot as the factory?

I haven't had any trouble with the factory block thing holding my batteries in.

My terminals are all crimped on with one of those anvil crimpers in a 20 ton press. Then the adhesive lined heat shrink. Haven't had a problem with the cables on the crew cab or the K5 I had before that.

After watching a battery short and melt down on the trail (not mine but another well known member's...) I like to use a battery switch and bus bars. That way I can quickly isolate the batteries from their loads.

I made cables with these ends in 1997 on my 1st 77 k20, they got moved to the new 77k20 in 03 and still on the truck now. Of coarse they have never been used to keep the battery in the truck.

Where does that battery box bolt to on the truck? Stock location or?

My one chevy has a continuous loop ratchet strap around the battery and tray. Most solidly held down one I've got lol.
