BB 2019 last minute thrash

Just curious, what's the farthest distance anyone has drive their square to bb? I can't make a decision until late July/early Aug which would mean that everything is booked. I'm looking at about 1200 miles one way. 18hrs or so plus fuel stops.

@TuckerK5 came from bama

Yeah, we trailered it. I have a spare tank (82 gallons extra).
We only stopped for fuel (twice) and to grab a bite to eat or hit the John.
It was 25-26 hours.
And went on a wheeling trip with Wade as soon as we got there.

I drove it 1300 miles a couple of times.
But last time I trailered the k5 I just bought since I didn't know if I could trust it.

Cowabunga, that's a truck driver road trip! I've driven my Jimmy from McKinney (Dallas) to Pikes Peak, drove home 800 miles Fogging trans fluid the whole way and I drove it 15hrs to Bristol night race, again to Darlington, Martinsville, and Talladega (3 times). Of course I was late 40's at the time. Now the wife is telling me I'm too old to make that trip alone "in a truck that old".

If things work out that I can make a late decision and still get a place to stay, I may take a shot at it. I have a 2 1/2" lift, g80, open front, so it will be mild trails, passenger, or spectator. Never been on rocks. I will have to drive my "old truck" home. All it would need is plugs,.oil change and maybe a fresh tire balance. I'll do all that anyway trip or not.

I keep telling her that I'm not old, I just have patina.

There are plenty of hotel rooms. You can also tent camp at the campground. We do some easy trails for those who need to drive home with mild rigs. There are also empty seats every day. With as far as you are driving, try to make it more than 3 days. A lot to see out there.
