BB 2019 last minute thrash

I have caps AND plugs, cuz I'm wacky like that... the plugs keep the cylinder from bleeding oil and getting contaminated, and I have old hoses off of the '72.

After working on it for 2 days this weekend, I feel decent about how what I have packed. It isn't exactly pretty, but I have the rear seat now usable and I am close to ready.,.. I just gave to finish packing a couple of ammo boxes with stuff and figure out a way to tie down the cooler.
Way more prepared than a month ago!
:saweet:

When it does fail, you can ride with me.

I spent the weekend prepping at the Lake and the State Fair demo derby. You know I had to make sure the camper was operational. I did find an issue, the 12v power to the camper only worked with the truck running, but not with the truck running. Kinda problematic for the fridge you know.

I got started re-organizing the gear from being at the lake and stocking the spares and fluids. I've got way more than I should need, but better to have and not need right? Everything is tucked nicely into the lower bench.

Cook box is restocked and ready to ride.

Re-organizing..

Swept out dust and dog hair. Fridge is running on 110 right now. Loaded some drinks in already. Will finish loading that tomorrow. The remote monitor for the fridge stopped on my last off road outing so I had to figure it out. Found the stupid little plug at the back of the fridge for the transmitter was loose. My only complaint about the ARB is that stupid connector. So cheesy and poorly executed with no way to positively lock it in as the whole plug flexes with the install of the plug.

Really only need to load the fridge the rest of the way tomorrow. Toss in the duffel bags for me and the boy and the camera gear bag.

Smooth move hippie

Don’t forget your bag!

I figured you would catch that. Pretty slick huh?

Yes, the bag will be loaded by this time tomorrow night. Not going to forget it. No Wally World in Moab to go replace my stuff if I did forget it. I'd have at least one clean shirt though once we got there!

Got at it earlier today so I could be in the shade as I worked. Glass is clean and rain-x'd the windshield. Not so much for rain, as I'm sure that's probably not on the forecast but it helps to clean off the window with the washer fluid when it's dusty.

While I was in the shade I figured I'd clean up the front bumper too. The chrome was completely hazed over. 20 minutes with a power cone and some chrome polish and holy cow. Sorry ahead of time to anybody in front of me about the reflection. It's obnoxious.

Before, window cleaner got a good bit off, along with the dead bugs, but it was still hazy.

After.

Went to the beer shop for refreshments and loaded them in along with other drinks. All that's left to load in the fridge is the food. Tools are loaded too.

I know it's not frantic last minute assembly like others, kinda boring really. But when the truck is normally ready to go this is pretty normal. Minus the polished bumper. Less than 24hours to roll out. Booyah!

Looks great, as long as the back one is black I should be good.;)

No AC for me. New lines installed and started to pull a vacuum, no bueno. Would not hold a vacuum so charged it up with nitrogen, replaced a couple of o-rings and still no good. The dreaded soapy water test showed the pump leaking pretty much everywhere.
Filled regular tank and a jerry can full of fuel and was close to my work so stopped by and ran it across the scale. Still have to load food and drinks and bolt the hood on but with just me on board........ 6900lbs exactly.

Sucks on the AC, but most of our run out is going to be at higher elevations, so it probably won't be an issue on the ride out or back. Moab will be another story. Speaking from experience, lots of cold drinks. Water/gatorade. Cooling towels work pretty well too. I will say this, the camper over the cab shades it pretty well as long as you aren't traveling into the sun.

The weight sounds right considering the big block and D60 over my aluminum head LS and D44.

It says you are not moving yet. Get to it.
Waiting on my boy. Truck has my bag inside at least. iPad is locked in for the rimrocker trailhead. Just waiting on the kid to get out of the shower.

You guys all suck! I'm stuck doing work/life/all things not Moab and I'm only 2.5 hrs away. Have fun! At least it's cooling off a little. It was way hot down there recently.
