In my shop. Doing stuff.
I just moved to Colorado. Finished by 87 GMC Jimmy last year as a desert pre-runner. Never been anywhere but the desert. It wil do 70 MPH across a whooped out desert. I am looking to expand my horizons.
New stock motor and trans. This thing has 18 inches of travel at all 4 corners, 3 linked front and rear, Currie extreme duty rear with 456 and Detroit locker, front is Dana 44 with 456 open. Full 2" DOM roll cage and all of the good safety stuff.

Should I show up or go back to Claifornia?

I think you'll do just fine. My guess you suspension will be over-built for most stuff, but I'm no expert, just a thinking man :D Over-built is rarely a bad thing. Miniwally and some others can probably chime in with more expertise.

Check out the Rocky Mountain Region forum and see if you can catch some trail runs with the rest of us here in Colorado. We have one planned for Saturday, but it might be a bit of a drive for you. It's up west of Fort Collins. There's another planned for Aug 4th that's closer to your neck of the woods, just east of Buena Vista. And some guys are planning to do some easy wheeling south of Denver next weekend the 21st.

If you're interested, email me [email protected]. Or pay for a membership here and then you can post in the Rocky Mtn Region and send and receive PMs.

And there are some dunes you can drive on in Northern Colorado, near a town called Walden.

Thaks for the info. I am joing to join up. I am in the process of setting up my shop. Should have it done next week. Then I can repair the damage I did the Saturday before I moved here. Then I will be good to go. I can drive wherever. I am retired and want to see more of the state. I have done some wheeling in the Deloris-Tellurire are last year. That is why I moved here.

There's plenty of good wheelin' right around the Springs. A few CK5 members live down there too.

You'd enjoy a trip to Moab for Blazer Bash, too. :D

I will se what I can find. Our web site is down for updating. I will put a link on when it is ready.

I built it as a sleeper. I have been pulled over twice because of the mods. They do not like the vertical bars in the windshield and it is a little loud. Never recieved a ticket, just warnings.

It was fun in the So Cal deserts to run along side most of the racers and see their faces.

Looking good! That will definitely get some attention at Blazer Bash! :waytogo:

You gettin' pulled over in CO, or CA?

In Ca. The front end still sits 1 foot to the right to due major damage 2 days before I moved here. Will fix it this week.

What is the front suspension in that. It looks like a triangulated 4 link with bell crank crossover?

It was 2 arms with hiems at the frame and 4 links on the axle with a cross link. The only thing I paid to have done.

Right side tore out due to lack of articulation. I cut all of the other guys stuff out. It is now a 3 link with full hydro steering. It was a lot of work.

I am signed up for BB07 so you can see it then. Just remember that it is a pre-runner and not a rock crawler.

Have any better pics of the previous setup and the new?

Sounds like it would be a hoot to get a ride in.

Maybe ktmoutfront can make some extra cash giving joy rides! :haha:

It is not fast out of the hole, But the first set of rough stuff or sliding corner will make you pull vinyl from the seat. Maybe. I am signed up, just figuring out if I want to load the camper or motel it. Either way, the Jimmy rides on a trailer to get there. Too scary to drive on the street much.
