BB16 trail selection

I'll lead whatever night run we do. My main desire for Moab Rim is that I want someone to take pictures of us from Moab when we get up to the top and turn on all our lights!

I might add some lights to the Blazer for that one.

Surely you'd have cell phone reception up there right? Give a call down so someone could take the picture.

This will be the reason I toss on some lights.

That was the plan. I'll also have my 25W race radio if anyone else has one to receive in town, but phone calls would be better.

I have a couple of the Boafeng handhelds that might be able to use the same frequencies as your race radio.

I've got a programming cable for the 5 watt ones so if you don't have the right frequencies I can program them for you.

OK, we are registered. If you need a trail leader (or tail gunner) for the powder puff run, Amber volunteered.

I can also lead or help with the other two trails (Hells Revenge and Pritchett).

Looks like I will be doing the newby run, fins and things or golden spike and then gold bar rim, do I need a rear locker for any of them or can I get away with open diffs front and rear if I have some good suspension flex?

budget kinda makes that decision.

One end or the other makes a big difference

Golden Spike would be a bad idea with no lockers. We'd really prefer both axles locked just so you're not holding up the entire group. Gold Bar can be done, but you will have to use momentum so your axles and shafts need to be in good condition.

Ok thanks for the advice. I don't want to be "that guy" that everyone is pissed at on the trail. I will see if I can get it welded up in time so I don't have to worry.
