whats the difference between the 88-95 bbc and the 96-98 bbc motors. besides one is tbi and the other is the vortec? will the 88-95 bbc headers fit a 96-98 bbc vortec? or the heads different.

The headers should fit. I don't think the position of the exhaust ports changed at all, and I know the bolt pattern didn't. Other differences? The engines are very different. All the electronics and injection are different, the heads are different, the oiling system is different. But externally the block/heads are darn near the same.

headers

what about the air injection thing on the left side of the manifold. 88-95 dont have it but vortecs do

air pump!

my 97 vortec has one. can i tkae a 88-95 454 headers and weld the piece on one of them?:haha:

The vortec heads don't have a exhaust crossover so the exhaust gases are plumbed externally to the EGR valve from the manifold. TBI motors have a crossover and thus no port in the manifold. All else is the same.
