So ive got 346236 75-78 peanut ports i gather. ive read that this cam and intake work well on a 454, however does the intake even match up with the peanuts?

i dont see anything looking like peanuts lol, why are they called that?
can i put an oval intake on peanut heads?

its going in my blazer to be a rock crawler/show off truck. it will also be TBI. 454/400/203/205 4.56 and 39's
i have no idea what cam is in it but probably stock. is the cam worth it?
do valve springs i have work with a new cam?
ive got to replace the stock intake anyays because it leaks a little, so i want to put something better on instead.

if yall know of a better intake cam combo for a similar price, im all ears.
i just want a great low end grunt motor :woot:

before this i have never touched a motor beside the valve cover gaskets lol, im a total newb so please forgive me.
questions, comments, hate mail, id love to hear it.

peanut port great for bottom end tourqe buildin.

oval port good all around power.

rectangle is just BIG boy stuff.

I'd think you'd be choking that manifold putting it on peanut heads.

A quick search on Summit shows Weiand is the only aftermarket they have for peanut port, and it's for carbed .....unless I missed something --> LINK
You can then put an adapter plate on it for the throttle body --> LINK

so thats good cause im not in a racecar, peanut ports will be fine then.
and will i be "choking" anything? i think the heads choke themselves bieng so small compared to the intake? if i just put that intake on it would just be plenty adequate? lol

I have that same drivetrain in mine. I put that Edelbrock intake on my 781 heads (large oval port) see comparisons here:

My head guy did some extensive port matching to get it to work on the bigger heads.

.

ya it will hurt flow. 1/2 the charge will be hitting a wall and make a tone of turbulance.

would have to do some major gasket matchin/blending and not realy worth it. just grab a peanut port intake and 30-50 doller adaptor back to tbi .

done and done. had no idea the turbulence, makes perfect sense though. ive got the GM tbi adapter that oughtta do the trick.

ok so now the cam, will that work good with the wieand intake AJ found?

its not the intake you got to be lookin for its the cam to computer getting along.

need 112-114 lsa and prob best just to pick a close to stock ish cam unless you wana do lots of prom rework.

this came has 114 lobe seperation, found it on tbichips site. not sure what computer number ive got yet. ill try and snag that info.
