So Ive been reading alot of back articles about BBC and how to build them and trying to decide how to build mine. Basically im kinda going back thru and trying to learn what the hell the machinist did to my block other than not put it together the right way or completely. The block itself has the casting numbers of 361959. The block was bored .060, the crank (unknown if stock or not) i was told is .030 under? and the cam is the comp cam extreme 4x4 cam with Operating Range:1400-5400 RPMDuration Advertised:262° Intake / 270° ExhaustDuration @ .050'' Lift:218° Intake / 226° ExhaustValve Lift w/1.7 Rockers:.505'' Intake / .515'' ExhaustLobe Separation Angle:111° copied from jegs. Ill double check but i think that's what the machinist told me. Flat top pistons unknown. The heads have a casting number of 346236. Now i've read from 4x4high that the 781 heads are the best but would i need to swap the heads for the 781's or keep the 236's? the heads have 1.72 comp cams roller rockers. First i dont know a darn thing about building motors nor the math and numbers that i think i need to know to properly build this. I dont know what valves i have but ill check on that tomarrow. Now im kinda thinking i might have been screwed on this as the guy building it did what he wanted to and didnt hardly do what i wanted to, perfect example he told me i had peanut ports heads and so i bought the intake accordingly only to find out the next day that i did indeed have the oval port heads but he "went ahead and made the intake work". not to mention im missing about 50% of my oil galley plugs and gods knows what else, but at this point i might be tearing it down just to make sure its torque'd and everything else is ok. Pictures to follow.

P.S. This is the same "machinist" that put the motor together with the rear main seal sticking out about 1.5-2 inches.

You have peanut ports, I feel that cam is too big since 1. you have about 8 to 1 compression 2. The heads are done at 4500ish. I have a much smaller cam with 204/214 duration and it runs hard in my k30 and will easily smoke the 37s or idle up a hill in low low. Oh I have nearly the same engine.
