Well after much debate im keeping the big block instead of swapping to the 6.2. I was planning on a new carb, but instead pulled the q-jet and cleaned it up real good and looks like it will be staying too. Last two items are my intake and exhaust manifolds. I have the exhaust figured out and i am debating whether or not o even fool with the intake. Are the gains for a DD/towrig enought to justify the money spent? This is for a 86 oval port 454. Thanks.

For the intake, I use a Performer. It does great towing, and keeps emissions stuff. For the exhaust, I have a set of Thorley Tri-Y's and I love them. They made heck of a difference over stock!

The smog pumps are gone, no need for them here. I had one of the pumps lock up on me. Thats one of the main reason i need a new exhaust setup.

I was thinking about the Summit aluminum intake........

Ditto on thorley and performer. They work well past 5K if needed.
