BBC large tube headers?

My buddy just got a set with 2 1/4 primaries, 4"collector. I remember that because his primaries are the same size as my exhaust tubing

He got them at a swap meet, they're called purple something or others. I'll ask if I see him

Purple Hornies?

Iirc Stahl makes big tube headers for our trucks.

Hooker SuperComps come in a 2" primary with a 3.5" collector.

Part numbers are buried somewhere in my build thread, but you should be able to find it with search...

I think it might be a Chevelle application, but it seems to work pretty well on trucks too.

Power Pro and Fab Shop both make a large tube header . I have a set of the Fab Shop 2.25 primaries and a 4 inch collectors. They are fenderwell headers though .

I have 2 1/8" primary 3.5" collector on my chevelle, but they are a 2 piece header. The 2" ones I had were 1 piece.

The bigger question is why? A 1 3/4" primary is good for a BBC in a truck application but you should leave the 2" + for race cars.

People like the extra volume for gas expansion, for the rumble. That's all I got :o :p

Why do people do 3" true duals on stock small blocks? It's because of the way it sounds, and partially the looks. I doubt anyone running this setup has much backpressure

He could be racing it, not every truck grts driven to Walmart.

Ha! I knew it. You are one of those Potterville guys that I hear about. Are you going to have your rig going this year? I take it you must race at Lemoore and Avenal
