BBC or diesel...whats better for pulling loads?

On flat ground from a stop the diesel will obviously outpull a stock 454 but uphill is a different story. With very minor mods he could have the 454 pumping out 400+ hp and somewhere in the range of 450-500 ftlbs.

the 7.3 L will suck more gas and not have as much off idle torque but it will be able to cruise up hills alot easier and still will handle whatever you have to throw at it with no problem considering he has the option of looking into getting one built up... if he can afford a 5.9 cummins or the cat with the allison he can easily mod a big block to pull just as hard as the diesel and harder than it up hills.

you don't understand i am trying to stop all this.... the whole argument was what pulls better up hills and somehow a couple took that to mean bbc are better than diesels for pulling loads period. Never said it. I even said if we are talking about the new cummins then it will maintain speed up hills. the older diesels are the ones we are talking about.... he can't afford to pull a cummins out of an 03 ram.

right back at ya. still haven't shown me where it says bbcs are putting for pullin loads. keyword was hills.... sure the newest diesels will but that is way too expensive for him to put in his truck ... i could give a damn what you think beater. you are as mixed up as you say i am. hell rfj should be arguing with you for the statement you made.
