BBC or Diesel

I was already leaning towards the 6bt, Looks like thats the direction ill go. If I stay 97 and older I can get away without the smog for diesels. Although I have a friends who will make me a great deal on a motor and tranny including harness etc out of a wrecked 2005 ram 3500. Any thoughts on that year cummins? Im pretty familiart with the diesels up to about 2000.

I think all the 12v's are non computer as far as the engine is concerned...it may have input from various sensors, but the engine will run without them from what I understand....98.5 24v's start having more electronics for engine management and have greater increase in power output.

I know it's a 24v and computer controlled, has more power. Just don't know if it is worth dealing with smog, computers etc for the power gain/drivability.

Russell can make any swap sound easy, me not so much...Im going to have my hands full with the 98 12v and 47re....If your confident in your electronics I would go with the 24v!

The 2005 engine is still a great engine and while the install may be a little more complicated I think the end result will be better. They do not care about cold hardly at all with starting or driving. Also with just a programmer you could be over the 500 horse mark.
