BDS spring price and other ???'s

I know this has been asked before, and pretty recently at that, but I think I must be a "search" retard 'cause I can't find it. JD's Offroad quoted me $122.49 for a BDS 4" lift front spring. This is the price for ONE spring, correct? Also, I am doing a shacle flip out back with ford 57" springs and the ORD 4" shackle flip. I need to make a set of custom shackles for my app. Do I make them as long (bolt center to bolt center) as the stock shackles? Is 1/4"x2" flat bar big enough for making the shackles, if I weld in some 1"x2" rectangular tube between them?

why are you making the custom shackles??
yes that price is for 1 spring.

The custom shackle is because I am using 3" wide Ford 57" springd and also need to offset the shackles 3/8" outboard due to the fact that I am using a ford front spring hangar to accomodate the 3" springs, and it spaces the spring pack farther from the frame than the ORD 1-ton shackle flip brackets that I will be using in back.

yea 1/4" is prolly fine but I would go 3/8" if I could.

How about the length? If I build them stock length, with the shacle flip brackets, that'll give me 4" of lift, right?

as long as you have the spring in the same location as a regular flip then it should net you 4" of lift but you might have to play with it a little since the springs are softer.
