This is somewhat old news to active HAM's and does pose a serious threat.

So you're not worried about it ?? I recently hust heard about it and have concerns. I hope they dring it down, I'd hate for the radio equipment too became useless.

Don't get me wrong, YES I am worried about it. I was just stating that this threat to the radio waves has been around for quite some time now.
The only thing that helps me not worry as much is the fact that in it's current stage of development, the BPL technology that poses a threat to us because of the interference it can cause also suffers from interference from our radios. That means that there will have to be design improvements to the technology before we will see widespread use.
The best news about it all is, the battle isn't going to be all political. Consumers are not likely to buy and/or keep a broadband service that can lose connectivity because of a kid in the neighborhood with a walkie-talkie.
