3. Yes I like them and very pleased with the style and quality of workmanship
4. The only thing I dislike'd was torqueing (sp?) 32 bolts several times to get it right. I would rather have the 32 vice some of the 24 and 12 I have seen around. I had a problem when I had the inner ring welded on, had a few air leaks so had to remove the tires/locks a few times. About the 10th time I had it down to a science.
5. No. I helped support a member of the board and was worth what I paid for mine. I have heard some quality issues from other with their "big Company" beadlocks.
6. Anything different? Probably not. I think Ihave a set of high quality beadlocks with high quality fasteners, if I break something, it was meant to have broken.


I also have a set of H1 beadlocks sitting in my office. Have them because they were convenient and there. Will more than likely end up selling them due to I all ready have 1 set.

I had my locks down to like 9 psi this past weekend and was only woriied once I was going to rip a bead out. That was due to I had a truck hook up to the side of my bumper and was trying to pull me sideways to get me around an obstacle due to I snapped both my driveshafts. Never even bothered the beads when he tried and tried to pull me over, so mine were done right.

I have DIY4X4 beadlocks on my 16.5s.Very happy with them and ditto on a bunch of stuff stated above :D
 
i have trail ready's
it's a great lock and would buy again if needed. what i like is the light weight over a steel lock ring.
 
yeah, some steel beadlocks/wheels combos are heavy ****ers. I wouldn't mind some walker evans cast AL / AL beadlocks... bet they don't weigh as much. :)

Haven't got them yet but I'm going to try those Staun Second Air inner tube things! They look like a great idea, give you inner locking too and should be a lot lighter than steel ones. One of the 4x4 mags gave them a good write up too. :)

Im running Goudy aluminum beadlocks and I love them. I run 3 psi in the front and 2 in the rear and I havent had a problem yet, nor do I forsee one.

I really like the fact these wheels are probably some of the lightest beadlocks I have seen, yet they have a beadlock ring that ranges from 3/8"-1/2" thick. There wont be any chance of bending or msashing that. All of the bolts are recessed into the beadlock ring, so no matter how hard I grind on them, I will still be able to get them out. Unlike some aluminum beadlocks, these wheels have high quality nutserts in the wheels, so its not a PITA to put them together, and they are not just threaded into the wheels. I will definately go with Goudy again, but I will probably run the forged wheels instead of cast so they will be even more blingin.

Edit: Dont have any better pics of the wheels because my buggy is not at my house currently, but you get the picture.

Im running Armstrong/Hutchinson R+W 12 Bolt Double Bead Locks with Hutchinson rubber inserts. The rims were made by Armstrong and asembled by Hutchinson(the Hummer rim folks). The rims were found on a late 60's armored car in a junk yard. If I had to buy another set I would probaly go with Staz Works.
 
Has anyone had any problems with not running a double beadlock and has anyone run any of these on the street?
 
I run mine on the street. Haven't had a problem yet. I made the 4 hour drive to URE and the 5 hour drive from South Carolina without a problem.

As far as paying 400 bucks a rim wow, I have less than that in a set of 4 rims and beadlocks. I would much rather have a steel rim over an aluminum due to I can rub them on a rock and not have to worry about my rims getting screwed up. If I rub a bolt on a rock, simply grind it off, throw a new bolt/nut on that can be picked up at any hardware store.

I dont think you could tear the Goudy wheels up. As a matter of fact, the forged wheels that are $400 per wheel are stronger than your steel wheels, and the cast wheels like I have are about equal strength.
 
Point I am trying to make is that steel wheels and weld on bead locks are

CHEAP and Easy and they work. Same principal as any other beadlock.

Sorry, but I don't see any reason to pay 400 bucks for one wheel. That lip looks alot easier to bend than a flat piece of steel. Not trying to start a pissigng contest but the original poster asked for opinions, and I am a very opinionated person.

Yes, they work great
I'm running 16.5s and I've pulled the inside bead off at 5lbs. when coming off
a steep bank and trying to turn tight. All the weight was on the DS front tire
when it pulled off. I need to weld a safety bead on the inside or maybe a double lock?
Other than that, I have had no leaks or problems.
I wouldn't want to run them in mud much because of the wide flange,
stuff would pack in heavy.
I'd still buy another set if I needed them.
