DIY beadlock kits are cool... and cheap too, which is good. One nagging question holds me back though. You have to grind down the rim to weld on the ring... ok, no biggie. Question is, after you weld the rig on, how the heck do you protect the bare steel/weld on the inside of the beadlock? I really doubt just shooting some rattle-can paint from the other side of the rim is going to get back in the cracks/crevises. Won't they eventually rust back in there and weaken the critical connection between the two? I hate rust. I wouldn't mind doing DIY beadlocks, but I wanna know that they aren't going to be something that I'll have to replace every once in a while due to rust...
